AFNOS: the tools behind the work

AFNOS is the AI First Nations operating system: the software John uses to run classes, keep flights safe and legal, and deliver data to clients. Parts are already in daily use; the full system is still being built.

What's in AFNOS

Drone Class app In use

Runs Drone Class 101 to 501: online student workbooks, instructor guides and marking, consent and pre-flight forms, certificates (including a whole school at once), and an event report for each school or ranger group.

Ranger AI Toolkit Templates available Field app in development

Ready-to-use AI prompts and templates that help rangers turn field notes and observations into reports faster, including field observation, toolbox safety and flight log templates. A ranger field app is being developed.

Flight logs and compliance In development

A drone operations dashboard: pilots and aircraft register, missions and risk checks (JSA), flight log, incidents, compliance dates and reports, built around AI First Nations' CASA operations manual.

Client data portal Live

Every client gets a private portal for their surveys, maps and deliverables, with secure, time-limited downloads. Open the client portal.

Why build our own

  • Data from Country stays under community control, not inside someone else's app.
  • Every class, flight and survey leaves a clear record for schools, clients and CASA.
  • Rangers and teachers get tools made for how they actually work.
